The first maid cafe (メイドカフェ, Meido kafe), the coffee shop with waitresses dressed-up as maids, appeared in Akihabara in 2001.
In time, they became one of the main attractions of Akihabara and it’s almost impossible for me to imagine Akihabara without them… They lighten up the streets with cheerful voices and pretty costumes. And speaking of uniforms, I photographed them, but I haven’t realized the large variety of costumes until I saw them lined up at the Akihabara Uchimizu.

Kafe pembantu pertama (メイド カフェ, Meido kafe), toko kopi dengan pelayan berpakaian-up sebagai pembantu, muncul di Akihabara pada tahun 2001.
Pada saatnya, mereka menjadi salah satu daya tarik utama Akihabara dan itu hampir mustahil bagi saya untuk membayangkan Akihabara tanpa mereka ... Mereka meringankan jalan-jalan dengan suara ceria dan kostum cantik. Berbicara tentang seragam, saya memotret mereka, tapi saya belum menyadari berbagai macam kostum sampai aku melihat mereka berbaris di Uchimizu Akihabara.
